Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-11-05
The short version. You can use this website and the free product check to learn about LedgerScan and to check products. A verdict is a strong signal, not a guarantee. Business use of the platform runs under a separate written agreement, which wins if it says something different from these terms.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the LedgerScan website at led-scan.com and to the public product verification pages (the "Service"). LedgerScan is operated by Ledgercross LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (USA); "LedgerScan", "we" and "us" mean Ledgercross LLC. By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Manufacturers, brands and other organisations that use the LedgerScan platform (the dashboard, product registration, scanning terminals or a pilot) do so under a separate agreement, order form or pilot agreement with us. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement applies.
2. The website
The website describes LedgerScan and how it works. We try to keep it accurate, but product features, illustrations, demos and example figures are for information only and may change. Nothing on the website is an offer to contract; plans and pricing are agreed in writing.
3. Checking a product
Anyone can scan or enter a product code to check it. The result is based on the information available to us when you scan: the product's registered record, where it was meant to be shipped, where and on which devices the code has been scanned before, and your scan's location and device.
- A Trusted verdict means the scan matched the product's record and raised no warning signs. It is not a guarantee that a product is genuine, safe, in date, or stored and handled correctly.
- An Unsafe verdict means the scan failed one or more checks. It is a warning, not a legal finding that a product is counterfeit.
- If a verdict concerns you, do not use the product. Contact the seller or the brand. For medicines or health products, also speak to a pharmacist or your local medicines regulator.
Some checks need your location. If you do not share it, the check may be less certain.
4. Regulated industries
LedgerScan is designed to support supply-chain workflows such as those under DSCSA, EU FMD, GAMP 5 and WHO GSMS. It is not certified or validated against these or any other standards, and it does not replace any system or check that the law requires. Validating LedgerScan for use in your environment is your responsibility.
5. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you must not:
- submit false scans, spoof your location or device, or try to make a counterfeit product appear genuine or a genuine product appear counterfeit;
- copy, scrape or harvest product codes, scan data or verdicts in bulk, or use automated tools to query the Service, unless we have agreed to it in writing;
- probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our permission, or interfere with its security or availability;
- use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
We may limit or block access to the Service to protect it or the people who rely on it. If you think you have found a security issue, please tell us through the contact form on our home page.
6. Accounts
Business accounts are for the organisation that holds them and the people it authorises. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
7. Intellectual property
The website, the LedgerScan name and logo, and the software behind the Service belong to us or our licensors. You may view the website and use the product check for its intended purpose; you may not copy, modify or redistribute them beyond that without our permission. Product names and brands shown by the Service belong to their owners.
8. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the website and the public product check are provided free of charge and "as is". We do not promise that they will always be available, error-free, or that every counterfeit will be detected.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, arising from your use of the free website or public product check. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your rights as a consumer under mandatory local law are not affected.
10. Links to other sites
The website may link to sites run by others, such as a booking tool or our parent company's site. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions about these terms: use the contact form on our home page. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
